NUTRITION SERVICES
Registered, licensed dieticians are available for:

Medical Nutrition Therapy (diet counseling) for special
medical needs including diabetes, gestational diabetes, cholesterol, and
high blood pressure.

Weight reduction counseling.

Diabetes classes.
-
School-health and county-health nutrition advisory services.
-
Public education programs
WIC – WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN PROGRAM
WIC is a nutrition education and special supplemental food program for women,
infants and children.
Description of Services:
-
WIC provides checks for purchasing healthy foods to supplement
the diet, (milk, eggs, cheese, cereal, juice, beans and/or peanut butter).

Nutrition counseling
-
Breastfeeding support (Lactation Consultant and Breastfeeding
Peer Counselors)
-
Referrals for immunizations and health care.
Eligibility
Requirements
Categorical Eligibility extended to:
- Pregnant women
-
- Breastfeeding and postpartum women
-
- Infants and children under 5 years of age
Other Requirements
- Income must be below 185% of poverty.

- Have a nutrition need that can be helped by WIC foods and nutrition counseling.
Certification Requirements
-
Height and weight measurements and blood test for hemoglobin.
-
Proof of income or current eligibility in Medicaid, Food
Stamps, or TANF/TCA
-
Proof of identity and residency in Florida.
